The Clinic and the rooms have been designed to offer maximum flexibility and ease of access at any time of the day, week or evening.
The Clinic is run very much as a community and we offer support for practitioners to come together to jointly promote where there are synergies. We have created 'clinics within the clinic' to help with joint marketing and we encourage a multi-practitioner approach to treating clients, with cross-referrals.
Located just off Southernhay East, Barnfield Crescent is a prestigious address right in the heart of Exeter's business community and a stone's throw from the new Princesshay Development. No 4 is in the centre of a beautiful curve of Georgian buildings.
This area was traditionally the home of private doctors and clinics and is becoming so again.
It has all the benefits of being right in the heart of the city. With four car parks within just a few yards of the Clinic, on-street metered parking and nearby 2 hour parking, parking is easy and plentiful for both you and your clients. The railway and bus stations are a short walk away.
Our clients say they love that they can go shopping and have lunch at the same time as visiting us or be able to pop in from their office for their treatment. Many of them say they appreciate the discreet location and front door. Exeter is a small city, and although in the very centre, Barnfield Crescent is very private, and if they are seen entering No 4, they could just as easily have been visiting their accountant or solicitor.
We have lots of clients from the surrounding businesses and we are continuing to make contacts and promote the Clinic within Southernhay Clinic Building these businesses. The Clinic is in a truly beautiful building and has a growing reputation within the City and beyond with clients from all over Devon as well as Somerset, Dorset & Cornwall.
There are five therapy rooms with a waiting area (furnished with Corbusier leather sofas) and a beautiful client rest-room with two loos. The rooms are furnished & equipped to be very flexible with formal consulting areas, informal seating, treatment/examination couches etc. They are all suitable for talking therapies and three of them for hands-on treatments/examinations.
The treatment /examination couches move from completely flat with face hole to an upright chair and anything in between! They are strong enough for chiropractic or other robust forms of treatment. Pimlico also has a back-wash unit, useful for trichologists or tricho-therapists as well as a hair station.
Each room is served by its own door entry phone. The huge benefit of this system is that we offer a highly discreet service which is prized by our clients. There is no need for clients to present and announce themselves to a receptionist, they just buzz the room directly to be let in so that they can come to the waiting area. This gives each practitioner control of running their own appointments and knowing who is waiting for them. It also allows you to operate at any time and during early mornings, evenings and weekends; essential for some of our practitioners.
All rooms have free wi-fi internet access for use with your laptop / PDA.
All rooms have music systems which play CD's, i-Pods, USB sticks and other forms of memory card.
As well as the therapy rooms, there is a kitchen and practitioner loo. There are also storage facilities and you are welcome use these subject to room.
Feedback from both clients and therapists is that the rooms are professional, restful and a pleasure to be in! They are light and airy and beautifully furnished. Each room has its own 'boutique' character with some iconic pieces of furniture.

We have a dedicated answering service. For a small monthly fee, you can be added to this service. Calls are answered as Southernhay Clinic and messages taken for practitioners who are part of the service. Your messages are forwarded to you immediately by both text and e-mail.
This means you can use our Exeter telephone number on your literature/adverts and know your calls will be answered
Our dedicated answering service is also able to take bookings for you. They will set up a google calendar with you which they take you through. It is a very simple and a very cost-effective service meaning you do not miss potential client bookings whilst you are client facing.
We can also provide a receptionist for a small additional charge to cover your clinic hours. However, with the convenience of the door entry system, most of our practitioners enjoy being completely independent, and the discretion this gives their clients
There are different membership schemes to choose from.
Our rates are extremely competitive, especially when you consider our location and the quality of our rooms!
They reflect the needs of existing practitioners, new practitioners, occasional visiting practitioners, those wanting regular sessional booking every week, right through to those looking for a full-time, permanent practice room.

Basic Membership is £44 per calendar month for which you receive:
We charge a small one-off joining fee to cover our administrative costs and keys£30.
We have certain rooms available for permanent room rental – this is available at a hugely competitive rate:
Sessional Membership is available to those who prefer a regular weekly booking of three or more consecutive hours in the same room.
These are priced at a much reduced price to reflect the commitment (£8.00 per hour). You receive all the benefits of the basic membership plus the benefit of knowing that you have the same room booked at the same time each week, knowing it is reserved for your sole use at that time.
There is a three calendar month notice period on each side – the joining fee is also £30.
Extra ad-hoc hours are available at £8.50 per hour and can be booked via the online booking system – no monthly admin charge!
We understand that, as students, you are often required to see clients as part of your professional training. The costs of hiring rooms is often prohibitive as you know you either don’t charge or see clients free of charge. We are happy to hire our rooms on a much reduced, student rate, during our quieter days and times each week.
Student Ad-Hoc Membership is £12 per calendar month for which you receive:
There is a £30 joining fee.
If you are unlikely to use the rooms more than once a calendar month any one year, we offer Occasional Professional Membership.
There is a £75 joining fee and hours are charged at £15 an hour, paid in advance on booking
